Pumpkin patches
- Carrigan Farms, 1261 Oak Ridge Farm Highway, at the intersection of N.C. 150 and N.C. 152. Pumpkin picking runs in October: each hayride goes out to one of the farm’s patches, more than 20 acres of jack-o’-lantern pumpkins, where you pick a pumpkin off the vine. Reservations are required. The farm suggests gardening gloves or a pocketknife because the vines are a little prickly.
