How admission works

Brawley accepts applications from students whose traditional middle school would be Woodland Heights Middle or Lakeshore Middle, the school says. Oakwood Middle in Statesville takes applications from the district’s other middle school zones.

For the 2026-27 school year, the school listed these steps:

  • Jan. 5-30: open enrollment, with parent information meetings
  • Feb. 6: names provided for the lottery
  • Feb. 9 to March 6: parent commitment meetings for invited families
  • March 6: “Save the Seat” forms due
  • March 27: final list sent to the district and acceptance forms sent

The IB Middle Years Programme runs five years. In Iredell-Statesville it begins at Brawley or Oakwood in grades 6 to 8 and continues at South Iredell High, in Statesville, for grades 9 and 10, the school says.
