What it is
The town calls the Race City Festival “a beloved Mooresville tradition” and a partnership between the Town of Mooresville and the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce. In 2026 the two festivals became one “reimagined” day that took over downtown and, the town says, drew thousands of residents and visitors.
The 2026 festival had:
- food trucks and breweries
- a Family Fun Zone
- live performances, headlined by country-rock singer Rob Cole, from season 28 of “The Voice,” and Charlotte alt-pop artist Josh King, a top-eight finalist on season 23 of “American Idol”
- local vendors, community groups and an Entrepreneur Alley of local businesses
It was also part of the national America250 celebration, and it leaned on Mooresville’s heritage as Race City, USA. Our history and landmarks guide tells that story.
Shuttle, rideshare and parking
In 2026 the town ran a free, continuous park-and-ride shuttle from One Mooresville Center, 750 W. Iredell Ave., to the public lot behind Wells Fargo off Church Street, from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. An accessible shuttle was available.
Rideshare pick-up and drop-off was at the public lot on the corner of Iredell Avenue and Church Street, across from the Chamber of Commerce building. Downtown also has public lots off Church and Broad streets and street parking.
The town had not published a road closure list for the festival. Since Oct. 1, 2026, it tows vehicles left between 2 and 6 a.m. in three downtown lots, its parking notice says; that does not affect a daytime visit.
