Iredell County health inspectors scored 64 restaurants, grocery counters, school cafeterias and other food businesses with a Mooresville address in October. Sixty-one of the 64 inspections earned an A. Three earned a B, and none scored a C.
Ten inspections ended with a perfect 100. Three of those were elementary school cafeterias.
The figures come from the state’s online inspection portal for Iredell County, where Iredell County Environmental Health posts every score. We searched it Nov. 1 for inspections dated Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 with Mooresville as the city.

How we counted
North Carolina scores food businesses out of 100. A score of 90 or higher is an A, 80 to under 90 a B and 70 to under 80 a C, as set out on our inspections guide.
The portal also lists October inspections of 11 child care centers, two residential care homes, five tattoo artists, two school buildings and one rest or nursing home. Those use different rules, most carry no letter grade, and we left them out. The portal list does not show whether a visit was routine or a follow-up.
A Mooresville address on the portal includes unincorporated areas with a Mooresville mailing address outside the town limits.
