Valentine’s Day 2027 is Sunday, Feb. 14. Downtown Mooresville celebrates all February with the Mooresville Downtown Commission’s Month of Love for independent businesses, and it usually holds a Sweetheart Sip & Shop evening. The 2027 date is not out yet. For dinner, several downtown restaurants take reservations; book early for a Sunday Valentine’s.

Downtown’s Month of Love

In February the downtown commission invites shoppers to decorate downtown windows with hearts, drawings and notes about why they love downtown’s small businesses.

In 2026 the commission held a Sweetheart Sip & Shop, with downtown businesses offering specials, sips, refreshments, open houses and live music from 6 to 8 p.m. The commission’s page lists it as Feb. 13 in one place and Feb. 15 in another, so check the 2027 listing for the date. The 2027 date had not been announced when we checked.

Dinner reservations

These downtown restaurants publish their own hours and take bookings. None had posted a Valentine’s menu by Oct. 11; we will add menus as restaurants announce them.

  • Epic Chophouse, 104 S. Main St., 704-230-1720: a steakhouse that has served Mooresville since 2010. Book online or by phone; the restaurant asks parties of more than six to call.
  • Deepwell, 185 N. Main St., 980-503-3500: a modern steakhouse with New Orleans touches from Kindred Hospitality, in a historic Main Street building. Open Wednesday and Thursday 5 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 5 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 5 to 9 p.m.; reservations on Resy.

  • Live music: 202 North Main, 202 N. Main St., lists live music Friday and Saturday from 8:30 to 11 p.m. and line dance lessons on Wednesdays.
  • Art: Mooresville Arts, in the historic train depot at West Center Avenue and North Main Street, shows local and regional artists with free admission. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Thursday noon to 4 p.m., Friday 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • A walk by the lake: day use at Lake Norman State Park, 759 State Park Road, Troutman, is free.

Schools

Mooresville Graded School District students have no school Monday, Feb. 15, 2027, the day after Valentine’s Day, according to the district’s 2026-27 calendar.
