Mooresville’s main Christmas night is A Classic Christmas, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, when downtown fills with Christmas lights, Santa, ice skating and horse-drawn wagon rides. Downtown stores stay open late for Mistletoe Sip & Shops on Dec. 4 and Dec. 18. For a big drive-thru light show, Speedway Christmas in Concord opens Nov. 20.

A Classic Christmas: Friday, Dec. 11
The Town of Mooresville’s A Classic Christmas runs from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the heart of downtown. The town lists:
- Christmas lights along downtown streets
- Santa visits and Christmas photo spots
- ice skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, a carousel and train rides
- carolers and live entertainment
- local artisans, downtown shopping, food vendors, warm drinks and sweet treats
The town’s page does not list ride prices or a rain plan; check it closer to the date.
Mistletoe Sip & Shops: Dec. 4 and Dec. 18
On two Friday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., downtown businesses hold open houses with treats, warm drinks, festive decor, holiday specials and a strolling barbershop quartet, the downtown commission says. More shopping dates are in our holiday shopping guide.
Lake Norman Philharmonic holiday concert: Thursday, Dec. 10
The Lake Norman Philharmonic lists its annual holiday concert, led by Maestro Cedeño, for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in Mooresville. The orchestra has not yet posted the venue or admission; we will add them when it does.
Light displays
Speedway Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord runs nightly from Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, to Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027, from 6 to 10 p.m., rain or shine. The speedway calls it the Southeast’s largest drive-thru holiday light show: more than 5 million lights on a four-mile course around the oval, pit road and infield road course, with lights synchronized to music. The speedway says Friday and Saturday nights in December are the busiest and suggests Sunday or Thursday nights for a shorter wait.

The town’s 2026 holiday schedule moves Thursday garbage and recycling up one day for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 25): Thursday customers put carts out for Wednesday, Dec. 23. See our trash guide.
