As of Oct. 11, the Town of Mooresville had not announced fireworks or a town celebration for Dec. 31, and no downtown venue had posted its New Year’s Eve plans. The library closes at 5 p.m. that day. This page will fill in as venues and the town announce plans.

Fireworks and town events

No New Year’s Eve fireworks show or town event in Mooresville had been announced when we checked on Oct. 11. The town’s Arts & Events office posts its events on mooresvilleevents.com and in its newsletter. We will add any public fireworks or countdown here, with times and parking, as soon as it is published.

Downtown bars and live music

These downtown venues run regular live music or entertainment. None had posted New Year’s Eve plans when we checked; look at their own pages in December.

  • 158 on Main, 158 N. Main St., 704-662-6246: a cocktail lounge with live music most weekends and karaoke, open mic and comedy nights. Its posted hours run to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, and it is 21 and older after 9 p.m.
  • 202 North Main, 202 N. Main St., 704-663-5445: a live music, cocktail and bourbon bar in a restored Victorian building. Its site lists relaxed live music from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays.
  • Dive Bar, 152 N. Main St., 704-360-4766: an arcade bar with pool, skee-ball and arcade games, 21 and older at all times.

Getting home and parking

  • Since Oct. 1, 2026, the town tows cars left from 2 to 6 a.m. in the Charles Mack Citizen Center back lot, the Church Street lot between Moore and Center avenues and the Liberty Park lot, its parking notice says. Overnight parking is still allowed in the lot at Church Street and Iredell Avenue and on the street. If you leave your car downtown overnight, use those.
  • The downtown Social District closes at 10 p.m. daily; after that, to-go drinks cannot be carried on the street.
