Mooresville’s Veterans Day Parade is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, on Main Street. The Town of Mooresville hosts it, and the town says Main Street will be closed to traffic before and during the parade. It is the center of a Veterans Week that runs from a flag processional Nov. 2 to a free 1940s show Nov. 22.

Is it on this year?

Yes. The town’s Arts & Events office has published the 2026 schedule, and its parade entry application names Nov. 11, 2026, with a 1 p.m. start. This year’s parade also marks the country’s 250th anniversary, the application says.

Road closures and parking

The town says Main Street will be closed to traffic before and during the parade. As of Oct. 14 it had not published closure times, a start point, a finish point or parking guidance for the Veterans Day Parade.

  • Broad Street and Church Street run parallel to Main Street. For the Christmas parade on the same street, the parade organizers point drivers to parking along both and to the public lots off them.
  • Allow extra time if you are also attending the 11 a.m. Glenwood ceremony.

See our downtown parking guide and the road construction and closures page.

Groups can still apply. The Town of Mooresville’s parade entry application asks for the number of people, animals and vehicles in each entry. Return it to the Parade Committee, Mooresville Arts & Events, 413 N. Main St., or email the town’s Amy Sherrill at Absherrill@mooresvillenc.gov.

What changes on Nov. 11

  • Trash and recycling: a one-day delay for Wednesday and Thursday routes, the town’s 2026 holiday schedule says. See our trash guide.
  • Federal offices and banks: Veterans Day is a federal holiday, so post offices are closed and there is no regular mail delivery.

What it means for you

  • The parade is midday on a Wednesday. If you work downtown, expect Main Street to be shut around lunchtime.
  • Veterans should reserve the Nov. 5 Rotary breakfast now.
  • “Letters From Home” is free but not ticketed, so arrive early for a seat.
