Where to get burgers in Mooresville: downtown and River Highway

Mooresville’s burgers split between downtown, where Bae’s Burgers is on North Main Street and The Barcelona is at Merino Mill, and the River Highway (N.C. 150) corridor near I-77, where Duckworth’s, Five Guys and Whataburger sit close together. Culver’s, Kickback Jack’s and Wendy’s are a short drive away.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Mooresville’s town limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 11, 2026. We added Bae’s Burgers, Kickback Jack’s and Whataburger from their own sites, and placed Duckworth’s from its menu. The Barcelona’s site blocked our check; Merino Mill’s own tenant directory confirms it. McDonald’s and Red Robin are in OpenStreetMap, but their pages blocked our check, and Bob’s Grill, Bucko’s and Sumo Shack have no working site, so they are left off until we can confirm them. Bae’s Burgers is a smash burger restaurant on North Main Street, founded by a husband and wife, Fabian Elmes and Claire Connelly. It keeps a short menu and has a second restaurant in Concord. Its site does not post hours, so call ahead.

The Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden is one of the restaurants in the Merino Mill complex on South Main Street, which lists it in its shop directory. Its own site would not load for us.

Culver’s on Talbert Road is a chain whose menu centers on ButterBurgers and fresh frozen custard, with a flavor of the day. Its dining room, curbside and drive-thru keep the same hours.

Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse hand-forms its burgers in house from a custom grind of short rib and brisket, its menu says, and cooks them to medium unless asked. Wings and pizza are on the same menu.

Five Guys is in the Plantation Point Shops on River Highway. Its page lists cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries and milkshakes, with outdoor seating.

Kickback Jack’s is a sports bar on Ervin Road. Its menu says its burgers are fresh, never frozen, alongside wings, flatbreads and entrees.

Wendy’s on Brawley School Road has a drive-thru and delivery and is open late every night.

Whataburger on River Highway lists both its drive-thru and dining room as open 24 hours, with curbside pickup from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
